Continuing Education at A-2-Z Scuba
Specialties: We do certifications in specialties including Enriched Air, Deep, Dry Suit, Night, Boat, Navigation, Wreck, Drift, Equipment, Fish ID, Diver Propulsion Vehicle, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, and the new Digital Underwater Photography certification. We do a different class each month so call the store to find out what is available this month. We offer Enriched Air Diver every month, and other specialties by request. See below for more information about specialty courses we offer. All our courses include tuition, equipment and certification card. Books and optional gear are not included with the course price.
Drysuit: What is a drysuit? It is an exposure suit that uses air, not trapped water to keep you warm. It is possible to go scuba diving and not even get wet! Being dry in Puget Sound means longer, more comfortable dives. It not only keeps you warmer, but is easier to get in and out of. The PADI drysuit specialty course we offer includes learning about the different types of suits, how to care for them and basic repair work. We also teach you how to dive in the suit in a swimming pool first, then take you on 2 open water dives. If you do not own a drysuit, you will be diving with one of our Seasoft, White's or DUI rental drysuits. The drysuit specialty course is offered on the first Friday and the 2nd Saturday of each month.
Enriched Air: Want to do 3-4 dives in one day but find yourself running into your no-decompression limit? Enriched air allows you to stay down longer, and many people tell us it helps them feel better after a dive. Our no-dive Enriched Air specialty is a 2-3 hour course that shows you what enriched air is, how to analyze tanks and how to plan your dives with the tables, ERDPML or your own dive computer. We offer this class the 3rd Wednesday of each month.
